What is the aim of EMTICS?

EMTICS is a project funded by the EU with members of 11 different countries which aims to

• Elucidate the complex aetiology of the onset and clinical course of chronic tic disorders and TS as well as associated obsessive-compulsive symptoms, through disentangling the interplay between environmental factors and genetic background. 
• Translate research findings into clinical applications.
• Establish a European infrastructure for the study TS and associated obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
• Disseminate new knowledge on the pathophysiology of TS to the scientific and clinical community and society in general (including patients, their families and patient associations) and adherence to medical-ethical regulations.
